What are verification bodies? Initial verification -vs- verification
This article aims to provide insights into the various objects utilized for calibrating and verifying a system. The focus will be on understanding the distinctions between these objects and discerning their appropriate usage.
There are two types of verification bodies - Initial verification bodies and verification bodies.
Initial Verification Body
Examples:
50 x 30 x 30 cm body and 240 x 30 x 30 cm body, used for L235
30 x 30 x 30 cm body and 140 x 60 x 33.5 cm body, used for L135
These verification bodies play a crucial role in the initial verification process of LFT-versions of our systems. By comparing the measurements of the system with the actual dimensions of the bodies, we ensure that the system is accurately measuring.
The initial verification bodies are typically stored at the manufacturer's facility or the partner's location. One set is used for the initial verification of several systems.
The initial verification for LFT systems must be conducted by trained personnel only.
Verification Body
These bodies are utilized to conduct regular tests and ensure that the system is accurately measuring even after a shutdown. They play a vital role in maintaining the system's accuracy and functionality. The system will prompt for a verification process after each shutdown and when the system has been used consecutively for two weeks.
Each system has its own verification body. It is recommended to keep the verification body in close proximity to the system for easy access and convenience, e.g. under the table.
The verification process can be conducted by anyone.
System | Verification Body |
L235 | table with checkerboard print on top |
L230 | euro pallet |
L135 | wooden block |
L130 | -- no additional body needed -- |
S140 | u-shaped board with checkerboard print, see below |
S110 | -- no additional body needed -- |
