S140 | Information on installation and initial set-up

What location factors are important when installing a MetrixFreight S140 system?

This document explains the steps you need to take after receiving your S140 system. It gives you a compact overview of how to check the delivered packages, unpack the system and make the initial preparations for initial set-up.


1. Unpacking and checking the delivery

Check the product for any transport damage upon receipt. If you discover any damage, please document it and inform your MetriXFreight contact person/support immediately.

2. Advice location factors

Select a location for the system with a flat and even surface. An uneven surface can lead to inaccurate weight measurements. Furthermore, the S-series system should not be placed in direct, intense sunlight, as this can affect the accuracy of the measurement. A location with consistent lighting conditions and even incidence of light would be ideal.

The desktop system also requires a permanent power supply (100–240 V AC; 50–60 Hz) and a stable connection to the Internet (via Ethernet cable or WiFi).

3. Planning the installation


The initial commissioning takes place together with your MetriXFreight contact person/technical support. Please make an appointment in advance and plan 1–2 hours  for the commissioning.

4. Initial commissioning and onboarding

Setting up the table usually takes 15 minutes, onboarding and testing takes a further 30–60 minutes.

5. System use

After successful commissioning and onboarding, your MetriXFreight system is ready for use.
