General Preparations

This article covers general rules and needed arrangements before starting the installation - regardless of the installation type.

Prior to the MetriXFreight system installation, a variety of pre-installation tasks need to be performed in order to allow for a timely installation afterwards. Therefore, all preparatory work must be finished and confirmed to Metrilus by the customer at least two (2) weeks before the final installation date.

Find suitable location

No direct sunlight (be aware of skylights)

Floor must be level

Ceiling height of at least 4.10 meters

Free area of 5x4 meters, no walls or columns in this area

Prepare lifting equipment & personnel

On the day of the installation, the customer needs to provide an aerial work platform (AWP), scissor lift, etc., as well as the authorized personnel to operate such lifting device.

Qualified local staff will need to be of assistance to support the installation (e.g. when a second person may be required to raise the whole truss element or when operating the aerial work platform / scissor lift).

Provide power and internet access

For all MetriXFreight L systems, at least one 230V power-socket is required on-site. For other countries with 110V power (e.g. North America, etc.), the customer needs to inform Metrilus prior to the installation about the type of power-socket he will provide, including information about the voltage and plug type.

MetriXFreight L systems need to be connected to the internet in order to allow Metrilus to have remote access to the system. If no reliable (W)LAN – connection is available, the system needs be equipped with LTE capabilities (causing additional cost).

Assess required building certificates and approvals

The L630, L635, L230, L235, L130 and L135 will be fixed to the building. Depending on the installation type, different approvals might be needed.

Ceiling:
Mount to building
Mount to existing warehouse equipment

The customer (and contractor) are responsible to use a suspension solution that takes all of the building information (from the architect, engineering bureau) and load bearing capacity into consideration.

Gate and V-shape:
Floor anchoring

The customer (and contractor) is liable to propose and install the adequate anchoring solution suitable for the warehouse floor.

Metrilus does not provide recommendations, but rather examples. Metrilus does not conduct on-site inspections and is not familiar with the structural integrity of the warehouse. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the customer to choose the appropriate fixation after assessing the on-site conditions. Metrilus does not assume any liability for the proper installation of the fixation.
